When your Memories Matter...Lets Plan!

Bridal Beauty – Trial to Aisle

February 27, 2020 by Monika Michelle

Wedding season is just around the corner! As you approach your date, pick out your dress, and start finalizing details, don’t forget about your day-of beauty! A bride should never do her own hair and makeup. A couple reasons for this: you have no idea how stressed or emotional you will be that morning; you will be surrounded by family and bridesmaids who want your attention; you don’t want an every-day look for such a special day! What goes into booking your bridal beauty? We break it down from trial to aisle.

When should I book?

Beauty companies can book up to a year out. Many professionals in this industry also own their own salons and work for various companies. Popular dates can get booked up rather quickly. It’s smart to consider booking your bridal beauty 6 to 9 months from your date. The earlier the better!

What should I look for?

When you are comparing different hair and makeup companies there are a couple things to consider. Do they travel (and what fees are attached)? Do they guarantee your artist? What happens if you need to add more people? Compare the testimonials when researching bridal beauty companies. This is where you will find the honest truth on their team, how they work time-wise, and what the end-of-the-day results were for the bride.

What is a trial?

Consider it a test run. After looking over the galleries of work and reading reviews, you’ve chosen a hair and makeup company. Now, book a trial so you can see how you will look and feel after being dolled up. Bring some photos of inspiration so your artist knows what style you are looking for and they can recreate with your type of skin and hair. Make sure to mention and skin concerns and allergies. The trial is meant to “test out” what your bridal beauty look will be. If you need to make any changes, this allows you to have a stress-free conversation with your stylist while you are there, so you have no surprises by wedding time.

What should I expect on my wedding day?

The same artists who did your hair and makeup for your trial will arrive on your wedding morning. You will have provided the time you need to be ready by in accordance with when your photographer needs you ready to start snapping pictures. They will calculate how much time is needed based on how many bridesmaids, etc. need to have services as well. A final touch up once everyone is done and voila! You are ready to slip on your gown and start the day!

Booking a professional, traveling hair and makeup company is the best way to start your wedding day. You’ll be able to sip on champagne and chat with your bridesmaids while sitting back and being pampered. You will have the peace of mind knowing your makeup will translate to professional photography flawlessly, your hair will last all day and night through dinner and dancing, and you will look exactly how you envisioned for your perfect wedding day!
